Uni-Pixel in Deal With China Firm

Uni-Pixel said on Wednesday it has signed a non-binding letter of intent for Future Tech to produce UniPixel’s XTouch sensors in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province in China, adding that a definitive agreement is expected in September this year. As part of the deal, Future Tech would form a joint venture that will own and operate a manufacturing facility in Changzhou, China, and market metal mesh touch screen sensors in the Asia Pacific region. Future Tech intends to manufacture sensors for UniPixel, subject to agreement on volume and pricing.

Future Tech would pay UniPixel up to $5.1 million for rights, know-how and manufacturing assets that will be transferred to the joint venture, in addition to royalty payments.
